Hirose's history is also the history of Japan's connector manufacturing industry.
1960s  
1962
• The round RM (Ramicon), the angular 1300 Minicon V, and the coaxial MSS (Mamicon) series of connected were developed as Hirose's first original products.
1965
• Connector specifications were approved for the button-type telephones of the then Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation (now NTT).
• Development of button telephone connectors directly supplied to the then Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation.
1967
• Development of printed circuit board connectors and start of production and sale (Series 27)
