In the 1970s, Hirose took a lead in moving production to the regions. As part of this process of regional dispersion, Tohoku Hirose Electric Co., Ltd. was established as the first subsidiary in Japan of the Hirose Group in 1974. Thereafter, Koriyama Hirose Electric Co., Ltd. was founded in 1982 and Ichinoseki Hirose Electric Co., Ltd. in 1994. At present, all production activities have been transferred to these three subsidiaries of the Hirose Group.
Under this policy of total production transfer, virtually all production activities are placed on contract with outside affiliates to free Hirose Electric's internal staff to engage in activities with a high value-added content such as die development, design of production equipment, and research in electroplating technology as well as the provision of technical support to overseas subsidiaries.
All of the three domestic production subsidiaries have acquired ISO14001 certification for their factories and are excellent companies that are making a substantial contribution to the creation of employment opportunities and to the vitalization of regional industry. |
