Hirose Electric Launches FX36 Series 0.5mm Pitch Board to Board Connector with High Heat Resistance and Vibration Absorption
~ Supporting high-density packaging of powertrain equipment for BEVs and HEVs ~
As vehicle electrification and functionality continue to advance, there is increasing demand for space savings within limited enclosures, highly reliable connections in vibration environments, and improved assembly efficiency.
To meet these needs, Hirose Electric has developed the FX36 Series, a 0.5mm pitch board to board connector featuring both a vibration absorption structure and a floating design.
Typical Applications
X-in-1 units Inverters Converters Onboard chargers Electric power steering (EPS) Domain controllers and more
Enables further miniaturization and space savings without compromising heat resistance or vibration absorption performance
Against a backdrop of rapid growth in the BEV and HEV markets, powertrain equipment is increasingly required to support greater functionality and higher levels of system integration. At the same time, available space within equipment is limited, and constraints on board design and component layout are becoming more severe each year. In addition, there have been limited board to board connector options capable of meeting demanding vibration requirements in high-temperature environments, and cable connections have traditionally been the mainstream solution.
To address these challenges, Hirose Electric developed and commercialized the FX26 Series, a 1.0mm pitch board to board connector featuring high heat resistance and excellent vibration absorption performance. The series has been widely adopted in inverters and converters for large drive motors and has received high praise from customers.
Building on the heat resistance and vibration absorption technologies of the FX26 Series, Hirose Electric has released the FX36 Series, a 0.5mm pitch board to board connector that achieves further miniaturization and space savings. The FX36 Series supports high-density mounting, improves design flexibility, and contributes to application miniaturization, weight reduction, and more efficient automated assembly processes. It is well suited for harsh-environment powertrain applications, particularly multifunctional systems such as X-in-1 units with strict board layout requirements. The FX36 Series contributes to downsizing automotive equipment and reducing total system cost.
