POSITION SUMMARY

Reports to the Sr. Director of Sales-West Coast

Responsible for directing sales operations for the West Area of North America. Establishes and maintains strategic plans, policies and programs to maximize sales with optimum return on investment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Create and implement HRUS 5-year sales and marketing plans for area of responsibility.
2. Create and implement strategic plans to market & sell the correct product mix to produce the profit percentage established by HRSJ.
3. Identify new markets & provide technical market data to engineering to develop new products for those markets.
4. Manage regional sales team to work within a matrixed environment working with HRS focused market segment teams to maximize NPI sales and exceed segment revenue budgets within area of responsibility.
5. Create and drive a robust distribution strategy with regional teams to exceed revenue budgets, grow market share and widen and deepen HRS presence within ROW account base.
6. Provide direction to customer service to operate efficiently and continually improve to meet customers’ continually changing new service requirements.
7. Work with Customer Service Manager to properly staff and support all aspects of business within area.
8. Manage contract administration to maintain established profit margins & track market conditions & trends.
9. Create strategic marketing alliances with customers and competitors for technologies, products and license agreements.
10. Manage outside sales effectively to gain market share and exceed established budgets.
11. Mentor and create individual development plans for Regional Sales Managers to accentuate their strengths and improve upon their areas of weakness.
12. Evaluate and create a plan to increase the capabilities of the management and sales team by training or special projects.
13. Manage team of Regional Sales Managers to create and implement strategic business plans to achieve and surpass annual sales budgets and KPIs.
14. Prepare annual budget plan for all activity in sales department collaborating with all relevant departments for acceptance and buy-in.
15. Prepare medium and long-term personnel plan for sales department.
16. Prepares monthly and quarterly reports to cover major activities within their area of responsibility.
17. Employee must complete their tasks per ISO9001-2008 requirements, when applicable

SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Sr. Director of Sales, Distribution Channels

COMMUNICATION AND INTERFACE

1. Maintain strong ongoing relationships with Internal partners including Americas sales team, segment teams, customer service, operations, finance, technical support team and engineering, Hirose Americas and Hirose Japan to establish an efficient and effective sales operation in the US, as well as external partners, including customers, distributors and reps.
2. Provide clear and concise presentations to internal and external parties to render clear expectations and perspectives.

SUPERVISION

Directly supervises Regional Sales Managers.

PROBLEM SOLVING AND JUDGEMENT

Must be able to handle all facets of the business both standard and non-standard situations.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Sales/Marketing or related professional experience.
2. 10+ years of experience in management of employees and sales directives
3. MBA preferred in addition to international experience.
4. 10+ years of experience within the electrical connector sales activities in the US market.

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS

Frequent travel to include driving, and airlines … involves walking, standing, and sitting.
