POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting into the Director of Engineering, this position is primarily responsible for comprehension of the customer’s requirements and provide the appropriate HRS product solution by researching, analyzing testing from technical standpoint. Will work closely with Field Application Engineer and Sales team.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Ensuring that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications, technical drawings, or topographical maps.
2. Responsible to the assigned supervisor for performing entry-level engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient, and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.
3. Evaluate electrical products, components, and applications to ensure they meet specific standards and codes
4. Conduct performance, reliability, and compliance testing
5. Assist with equipment and process troubleshooting
6. Responsible to the assigned supervisor for performing entry-level engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient, and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.
7. This is an entry-level position for new graduates with a Bachelor's degree in engineering from a program that is ABET accredited.
8. Maintain a high level of integrity and discipline with a strong work ethic
9. Maintaining electrical equipment
10. Preparing specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials.
11. Writing reports and compiling data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies.

LEADERSHIP and TEAMWORK

1. Continual demonstrates Hirose’s philosophy of “connecting wisdom” and “always taking the lead, pursuing the cutting edge, achieving differentiation, and being the first to obtain consumer’s approval”.
2. Build close relationships with Hirose Japan personnel; assist with periodic customer visits by Japanese engineers and other Hirose personnel.
3. Create a collaborative team environment within the HRS support groups.

ADMINISTRATION

1. Complete tasks per ISO9001-2008 requirements, when applicable.
2. Complete all required reports, presentations in a timely fashion.

None.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/General Engineering is required.
2. Must possess the technical knowledge to be able to fully comprehend the customer’s requirements and provide the appropriate HRS product solution.
3. Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills.
4. Possess excellent communication skills (oral and written) to work with both external and internal customers. Able to clearly and concisely communicate across different cultures.
5. Ability to create PowerPoint presentations.
6. Ability to resolve issues and escalate in a timely fashion and to the customer’s needs.
7. Computer literate and proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
8. Self-motivated & positive attitude with great energy.
9. Must be able to travel up to 10-15% of time to the multiple supplier and customer’s locations.
10. Electronic circuit design and software proficient is preferred.

Must be able to work with engineering in Japan overtime as needed.
