POSITION SUMMARY

Working with the Technical Support Specialist and reporting to the Interconnect Technology Director, this position will provide timely, accurate support to our Sales team, Customers, Representatives and Distribution partners via phone, email and in person communication.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.

Prompt effective communication/responses to technical inquiries to/from:

  • Customers
  • Reps
  • Distributors
  • HRS field sales
  • Web on-line chat
  • Need-a-sample
2. Become familiar with Hirose products and structure.
3. Become familiar with appropriate Hirose USA databases and software systems
4. Help communication between customer(s) and Hirose engineering team(s) in Japan on technical aspects.
5. Become familiar with Hirose’s technology as well as competitor’s technology on assigned product lines and be able to communicate the similarities and differences.
6. Establish “trust” with Hirose Japan engineering through various coop activities.
7. Communicate customer feedback for product improvements.
8. Maintain the highest standards of integrity and respect for co-workers, customers and prospects;
9. Employee must complete their tasks per ISO9001-2008 requirements, when applicable.

SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Serve as a back-up Customer Technical Support by providing answers regarding technical product details.
2. Assist QA RoHS and REACH requests

No direct reports

PROBLEM SOLVING AND JUDGEMENT

High level of creativity analytical thinking ensures efficiency and professionalism to address technical and business problems related to current and potential clients.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, prefer Manufacturing or Mechanical.
2. Understanding of mechanical aptitude (i.e. intuitive understanding of mechanical processes tolerancing and dimensioning).
3. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to work with customers, and all company departments, to include Hirose Japan.
4. Strong ability to organize and complete projects with effective communication skills.
5. Proficient computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
6. Positive attitude, proactive mentality, responsive and strong work ethic.
7. Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
