HIROSE Electric Co. Ltd, a world-class manufacturer in connectors, has introduced the FH69 series flat flexible cable/ flat printed circuit (FFC/FPC) connector designed to provide high contact reliability and withstand high temperatures.
The FH69 series is a compact, 0.5 mm pitch and 2.3 mm height robust FFC/FPC connector; featuring the industry’s first two-point contact design that ensures high contact reliability whilst reducing contact failure due to dust intrusion, shock, and vibration. Through the top and bottom connection, design flexibility is given for PCB orientation, eliminating any restrictions by FFC/FPC contact points/trace path direction to provide an easy assembly process.
The backflip actuator design provides a stable and secure hold of the FFC/FPC cable when bent in an upward or downward direction. This also gives an advantage by preventing any unexpected opening during operation.
Along with these characteristics, the FH69 series is vibration-resistant and can be used up to an operating temperature of 125 °C, so they meet the critical requirements of the automotive sector.
To decrease downtime in the assembly process, HIROSE delivers FH69 series connectors with an open actuator where only a 2-step process is needed for completing the mating operation either manually or with a robot. Additionally, FH69 is designed with a wide mating face for rapid, easy, and precise insertion of the FFC/ FPC. Thanks to its unique non-contacts exposed design, there is no pattern (solder mask) prohibited area on the bottom side of the connector.
Currently, the FH69 series is available in 60 position contacts. However, to provide various numbers of contacts, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 are under development for this series.
FH69 series are ideal for automotive applications such as LiDAR, ADAS cameras, car navigation system, head-up displays, infotainment system, smart home devices, medical equipment, and other portable devices.
