TM21 Series – Shielded, RJ45, Cat. 6 Performance Modular Connectors
The TM21 series delivers a high-speed connectivity solution for Gigabit Ethernet 1000BASE-T and Fast Ethernet 100BASE-TX applications.
The connector range consists of modular plugs and single or multiple port jacks that fully comply with TIA/EIA-568-B data wiring standard and meets with Cat. 6 performance.
The modular jacks feature (optional) optical indicators that are integrated into the connector to save board space and decrease electrical noise. The shield around the modular jack outer surface and the built-in multiple shield and ground contacts provide a reliable panel mount connection. In addition, the metal shield on the plug assures protection against electromagnetic interference due to the 360° coverage of the engagement area. When mated together the shield surfaces are securely connected to provide a reliable continuous circuit.
A wire guide is available (ordered separately) to allow easy alignment of the cable conductors inside the plug housing
The user-friendly hand tool clamps the cable and terminates the IDC contacts in one simultaneous operation saving time. The hand tool can also be used on the popular TM11 and TM31 series.
The foldable one piece covers allow easy access to the plug termination areas. In addition, the cover extends over the release latch tab to protect it against damage during the handling process. The covers are available in 9 different colours. A TM21DP plug version is available to cover AWG24-27 cable sizes and to withstand an extended operating temperature range. Non-shielded TM22 series plugs are available.
