Glow Wire Compliance Statement
- All Hirose Electric (HRS) products with description of “Glow Wire”
meet the following requirements and are tested by independent agencies.
- IEC 60695-2-11：Glowing/hot-wire based test methods
- Glow-wire flammability test method for end-products (GWEPT)
Temperatures of glow wire: Above 750deg C. or Above 850deg C.
GWEPT is in accordance with IEC 60335-1 5th edition “Clause 30”.
NOTE
"Small component" connector equivalent to IEC 60695-2-11 sub-clause 4.4
(items to be considered in specimen shape) will not be subject to GWEPT
The glow-wire flammability test method for end products shall not be used for testing small parts.
This is because such parts cannot be effectively supported to avoid heat losses(see IEC 60695-2-10),
and they are not able to accommodate the penetration of the glow-wire
