In recent years, the market for E-Bikes (Electric Bicycles) has been expanding rapidly, and a variety of products have been developed to meet market needs. As a result, connection methods for connectors have also changed.
In particular, the connection of drive units is shifting from the conventional method of connecting the cable out of the panel with an in-line connector to the method of connecting connectors inside the application.
Hirose Electric has developed a smaller, high current, power-signal hybrid circular waterproof connector based on our long experience with E-Bikes.

Space-Saving

The power contact of the receptacle is designed to be connected to the cable at a right angle. This makes it possible to reduce the thickness of the drive unit by shortening the protruding portion of the cable, which tends to be thicker and have a larger bending radius for the power contacts.

Two Types of Panel Mounting

Recommended Panel Thickness: 6-7.5mm

Front Mount Type

Attach receptacle from the front of the panel. Then insert the wired contacts into the receptacle.

Since there is little protrusion from the panel to the inside, it is effective when space inside the panel is limited.

Rear Mount Type

Attach receptacle from the back of the panel.

Can attach pre-assembled cable assemblies to the panel. Additionally, there is no risk of workers removing the screws since they are not visible from the exterior.

Robust Lock Design for Damage Prevention and High Vibratoin Resistance

Lock Supports Both Ends

The locking spring of the double-ended support design prevents cable entanglement, lock deformation and damage during assembly and transportation. BH12 also clears the most demanding tests required for E-Bikes.

Mating Operation

Mating is completed by simply pushing straight in.

Unmating Operation

Pull straight out while pressing on the lock spring.
