FX26, FX36, and FX31 Series | Vibration-Resistant Floating Connectors for Automotive Applications

With the rapid growth of BEV and HEV production, internal connections in powertrain systems have traditionally relied on cable or busbar solutions, which can increase size, consume valuable space, and add assembly complexity.

The FX26, FX36, and FX31 Series are high-temperature, vibration-resistant board to board connectors developed to address these challenges. Supporting operating temperatures from -40°C to +140°C (FX26) and -40°C to +125°C (FX36 and FX31), the series is designed for demanding automotive environments.

Featuring unique contact designs combined with vibration-resistant floating structures, these connectors deliver highly reliable connections under harsh operating conditions.

The FX26, FX36, and FX31 Series support the transition to connector-based internal wiring in automotive systems such as ECUs, inverters, DC/DC converters, and battery packs, contributing to miniaturization, weight reduction, and more efficient automated assembly.

Features – Optimized for internal connections in automotive powertrain systems –

Vibration-Resistant Design for Harsh Automotive Environments

Unlike conventional floating connectors that are susceptible to Z-axis vibration, the FX26, FX36, and FX31 Series feature a proprietary floating structure that absorbs PCB movement in the mating direction, helping maintain stable performance in high-vibration automotive environments.

High Temperature Resistance for Harsh Automotive Environments

The connectors have been verified through strict automotive qualification tests, including thermal shock testing (-40 to +125°C or +140°C, 1,000 cycles) and high-temperature exposure testing (1,000 hours at 125°C or 140°C).
They ensure reliable performance in high-temperature applications such as inverters, providing greater flexibility in system design and connector placement.

Hybrid Signal and Power Connections with FX26/FX36 and FX31 Series

By combining the FX26 and FX36 Series for signal lines with the FX31 Series for power lines, high-density mounting can be achieved.
This hybrid configuration contributes to significant size reduction and overall cost savings.
